§ 21. Village clerk; duties.

  • The council shall elect an officer of the village, who shall have the title of village clerk, shall give notice of its meetings, shall keep the journal of its proceedings, shall authenticate by his signature and record in full in books kept for the purpose all ordinances and resolutions, shall be the clerk of the municipal court, shall have authority to administer oaths and to issue warrants for the arrest of persons violating ordinances of the village, shall have charge of the conduct of municipal elections and shall act as supervisor of registration.
