§ 30. Absence or disability of village manager.

To perform his duties during his temporary absence or disability, the manager may designate by letter filed with the village clerk, a qualified administrative officer of the village. In the event of failure of the manager to make such designation, or should the person so designated by the village manager be unsatisfactory to the council, the council may by resolution appoint an officer of the village to perform the duties of the manager until he shall return or his disability shall cease.
