§ 18. Village manager; appointment; removal.

The council shall appoint an officer of the village who shall have the title of village manager and shall have the powers and perform the duties in this charter provided and those which may be assigned to him by the council. After the first election subsequent to the enactment of this charter no councilman shall receive such appointment during the term for which he shall have been elected, nor within one year after the expiration of his term. The council shall appoint the village manager for an indefinite term and may remove him by a majority vote of all of its members with or without cause. The action of the council in removing the manager shall be final.
