§ 2-88. Indemnification of certain officials.

(a)

The Village shall protect and indemnify the Village officials listed in subsection (b) of this section from personal liability to the fullest extent authorized by F.S. §§ 111.071 and 111.072, but only to the extent that the official is not otherwise protected and indemnified by insurance purchased by the Village or otherwise provided.

(b)

The officials referred to in subsection (a) of this section consist solely of the following: the Mayor, all members of the Village Council, the Village Manager, the Village Clerk, the Village Attorney, the Chief of Police, the Finance Director, the Public Works Director, the Building Official, and all Village department heads.

(c)

Nothing in this section shall constitute a waiver of sovereign immunity or a waiver of any other defense or immunity to such lawsuits.

(d)

Nothing in this section shall create any private right of action against the Village by any third party.
