§ 2-46. Definitions.

For the purposes of this division, the following terms shall have the ascribed meanings unless expressly stated otherwise.

Ad Hoc Committee means any advisory board or committee created by resolution of the Village Council charged with the responsibility of advising the Council on a specific issue.

Board means any permanent advisory board or committee created by ordinance.

Boardmember means an individual serving on any Board.

Controlling Financial Interest means ownership, directly or indirectly, of ten percent or more of the outstanding capital stock in any corporation or a direct or indirect interest of ten percent or more in a firm, partnership, or other business entity.

Immediate Family means the spouse, domestic partner, parents, stepparents, children, and stepchildren of the person involved.

Related Client means a client of a Boardmember who is:

(1)

A member of the Boardmember's Immediate Family, or

(2)

If the client is a business, the Boardmember or his or her Immediate Family, individually or collectively, has a Controlling Financial Interest in the business.
